Life is a journey, you will never know what tomorrow can bring for you. Maybe it’s a blessing from finance, relationships, or health. But with Molly Lichtenwalner, a graduate student, her furrever blessing is from an earless white kitty. Molly used to deal with trauma from a car accident, and suddenly, the cat came into her life. He didn’t look like a normal fluffy feline that we could say ‘aw’ thousands of times in a day, but his spirit could completely heal his loving owner.
Say hi to Otitis!

Otitis used to be in the shelter for years due to his earless outlook
Being ignored in the shelter day after day, all of the staff from Feline Rescue Association of Baltimore (FRA) thought this senior feline would live there until the end of life. The cat’s precious ears were sadly cut off due to cysts which could harm his life severely. Little did Otitis know, there was a young woman who was searching for peace and calmness through him.
But there was a woman who fell in love with the cat immediately
Molly, at that time, dealing with panic attacks and anxiety, was desperately distressful. She grew up on a farm, so she was no stranger to having cats in her household. However, she desired to adopt cats who needed special care from their pawrents. And as surely as the fate was predestined, Otitis appeared on the Petfinder site, where Molly was looking for a snuggle buddy.
Her name is Molly, a grad student, who suffered from a traumatic car accident
“I was the first person to ever submit an application for him.” – Molly said.
Her saying indicated how poor the kitty was! No one wanted to adopt him because of his deafness.
She was a cat lover since birth, especially senior ones with special needs
On the very first day, Otitis divorced his silent mode and turned into an energetic creature that Molly had never seen before. Despite his loss of hearing, Otitis showered his anxious mom with love, care, affection, and attention. Gradually, Molly was getting less worried about her panic attacks. She put all of her love and effort into the cat whom she said he rescued her, not vice versa.
Otitis was Molly’s pawfect match at first sight!
“He is my Emotional Support Animal and always snuggles me at night and when I’m very stressed or having a panic attack.” – Molly said.
Molly overcame anxiety thanks to her lovable earless son
“He is sometimes the only thing that can calm me down at times. He’s the best thing I ever did and he definitely rescued me, I didn’t rescue him.” – She continued.
The cat loved to cuddle all the time
Now, the duo is living with another grey kitty named Wispy and Molly’s lovely newborn daughter. They couldn’t ask for more, because the house is full of love and joy!
