This sweet and loving pooch has rescued many ‘ruff’ lives, and his name is Raylan.
Raylan used to have a traumatic background, he was nearly put to sleep. “Raylan was adopted from a high-kill shelter where he was going to be euthanized. Nobody wanted him because he was too high energy and untrained – but clearly, no one had tried to train him.” – His beloved owner explained.

Raylan was safe in his pawrent’s arms, and he started a new chapter to find his life goal: taking care of kittens.
The owner said that when Raylan was 3 years old, the fascination with tiny kitties arose. The very first kitten who came to Raylan’s life was Watson in 2016. The owners saw the changes in their pupper’s behaviors toward the cat.
“He immediately just wanted to play with him and was so gentle and patient. Watson’s now our neighbor and they hang out frequently.” – The owner said.

He became a foster dad ever since, and it marked a milestone in his life. So far, Raylan the surrogate dad has looked after over 60 kittens at the age of 9. Wow!
When asked about the process of Raylan fostering these smol kittens, the owner said he did what a pawrent was supposed to do with love. Raylan is not only an affectionate but also a strict dad.
“He cleans them constantly (which is very very helpful when they’re really young), as well as playing with them and carrying them around. He also stops them if they try to scratch the sofa.” – The owner said.

Raylan’s love for kittens was too big to hide, so the owner shared the dog’s daily life with his foster kids on Instagram. Raylan proved to the world that cats and dogs could be friends furrever!
The owner also revealed Raylan’s reactions when it came to saying goodbye to his kittens: “He’s usually ready for a rest when the kittens leave and never seems sad afterward, but after a few weeks of alone time he starts to get sad if I don’t get new kittens – and when new kittens come he’s always so happy and excited. New kitten day is his favorite day!”
